RELAXING AND WINDSURFING AT ST. THOMAS BAY
St Thomas Bay is a large bay partly covered with white sand near the village of Marsaskala, in the south of Malta. Called ‘Ir-Ramia’ by locals, this natural inlet is a lovely seaside haven popular with Maltese families, yet it remains fairly undiscovered by tourists. White limestone cliffs and rows of beach houses used by locals during the summer season surround this quiet bay that retains a charming Maltese atmosphere.
The St. Thomas Bay coastline provides a variety of areas perfect for sunbathing and swimming with clear shallow waters, sandy banks, flat rocks and platforms that can be enjoyed by adults and children. Depending on wind speed and direction, the sea in St Thomas Bay is also an ideal location for windsurfing, offering sizable waves when conditions are suitable. Visitors to this serene seaside resort can enjoy walks along the promenade as well as hikes along the paths around Munxar cliffs. St. Thomas Bay and Marsaskala are known to have several great restaurants that offer delicious fresh fish daily. The Marsaskala bypass makes access to St. Thomas Bay easier by car and bus.
