SEA TRANSPORT MADE EASY WITH THE GOZO FERRY
The Gozo Channel Ferry is the main link from Malta to its sister island, Gozo. As there is no airport on Gozo the ferry offers an important link between the two islands. With a daily average of 27 round trips, this sea transport service is a safe and reliable way for passengers and vehicles to travel between Malta and Gozo throughout the year. Created in 1979, the Gozo Channel Company has since developed and maintained an efficient and economic service for local and foreign customers. The first operating ferry service between the two islands was recorded in 1241, with a regular service commencing in 1885.
The ferry terminal in Malta is located in Cirkewwa, the northernmost part of the island, which can be reached by bus from Valletta, Sliema and Bugibba. The journey across the Gozo Channel, a short stretch of Mediterranean Sea, takes approximately 20 minutes from the Cirkewwa ferry terminal to Mgarr harbour terminal in Gozo. On the boat you will find plenty of comfortable seating areas as well as a cafe, newsagent and souvenir shop. Purchase passenger return trip tickets for 4.65 Euros or car and driver tickets for 15.70 Euros from ticket booth at the Mgarr Terminal .
